Richard van As-Jacobsson is a clean hydrogen advisor and project manager currently running a hydrogen project for urban heating in The Netherlands. Using twenty-five years of experience in creating pace within complex settings, Richards passion is making the hydrogen economy flow. Todays digitized work environment enables Richard to work for clients throughout Europe.
After 15 years with Accenture Richard has worked as a freelance consultant for 5 years. After a few years as a senior project manager for a Dutch grid company Richard started his hydrogen advisory practice in 2020 with a focus on hydrogen for urban heating in Portugal, Sweden and The Netherlands.
Richard is a true European feeling at home in The Netherlands, Sweden and Portugal. Born and raised in Haarlem, The Netherlands, Richard moved to Lisbon, Portugal in 1995 where he studied economics at Universidade Nova de Lisboa. After moving back to The Netherlands Richard finished his master’s degree in economics at the Universiteit van Amsterdam and started his career at Accenture.
Richard has never lost his connection with Portugal where he lives in Monte Bom part time. Currently residing in Sweden on Styrsö with his Swedish wife, Richard is grateful to work with Nilsson Energy to provide turnkey CO2 free energy solutions for stationary and mobile applications alike. The system solutions can also be built into containers for flexible and scalable applications and are especially suited for urban heating.
With his passion for hydrogen and driven by the urgency of the energy transition, Richard contributes to the field of hydrogen by giving lectures and organizing events. Recently Richard organized an event in Sweden with the Swedish Hydrogen Association, Vätgas.se and the Dutch embassy in Stockholm connecting Dutch and Swedish organizations.
