Nelson Lage has a degree in Political Science – International Relations, with an Executive Master, in Management and Leadership Development (Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics). He has 15 years of experience in the public sector in the areas of energy, innovation and international relations. He was Advisor of the National Coordinator of the Lisbon Strategy and Technological Plan and Adviser of Secretary of State for Energy and Innovation (XVII and XVIII Governments). He was also member of the Ministerial Task Force “Commitment for Green Growth” of the Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Energy (XIX Government), responsible for communication and international affairs. In 2011 he joined ADENE – Agência para a Energia (National Energy Agency), assuming several functions, such as, manager at PNAEE-FEE (National Energy Efficiency Action Plan and Energy Efficiency Fund), communication and marketing senior manager at the Marketing Department, Advisor for International Affairs of the General Manager and Head of CINERGIA – Centro de Informação Energia (Energy Information Centre). More recently (from October 2018 to July 2020), he was Senior Adviser of the Secretary of State for Energy (XXI Government) and Senior Adviser and Deputy Head of Cabinet of the Deputy Minister and Secretary of State for Energy. From 1 July he is Chairman of the Board of Directors of ADENE – National Energy Agency and Chairman of the Board of Directors of OLMC – Energy Logistics Operator Switching (www.adene.pt and www.olmc.adene.pt ). In his voluntary and pro bono activities, he is currently Executive Director of the Intercultural Dialogue Network – Reach Alliance Global Network, member of the board of the Foundation Alliance of Civilization and member of East West Bridge International Foundation. He was also volunteer at International Amnesty and Spanish Red Cross.
