José Luís de Azevedo Cacho, was born in 1959 and is graduated in Civil Engineering by the University of Coimbra (1984), where he also Postgraduate in “Investment Project Analysis “, in 2003.
Regarding his associative past, José Luís Cacho was Vice-President of the Academic Association of Coimbra (1982-1983) and President of the August Assembly of the Academic Association of Coimbra (1983-1984).
José Luís Cacho was member of the Monitoring Committee of the Logistics Platforms National Network Plan, between 2001 and 2002; being also a member of the Monitoring Group for the rail link to the Port of Aveiro, between 2001 and 2002, and of the Committee on Accreditation of Civil Engineering Graduation at the University of Trás-os -Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD), by the Engineers Order between 2005 and 2006. From 2012 to 2015 he was also member of the Biology Department Council, of the University of Aveiro, while being a member of the Council General of the University of Coimbra, since March 2017.
From April 2005 to March 2015, he was CEO of APA – Port of Aveiro Authority, S.A. , where he had already been Member of the Board of Directors, from January 1999 to May 2002.
From November 2008 to March 2015 he was CEO of APFF – Port of Figueira da Foz Authority, S.A.
From July 2010 to November 2013 he was President of APP – Portugal Ports Association.
From November 2011 to December 2013 he was President of APLOP – Association of Portuguese Speaking Ports; presently being Member of the Board of this Association.
José Luís Cacho is CEO of APS – Ports of Sines and the Algarve Authority, S.A., since October 2016, being also President of APP – Portugal Ports Association since October 2019.
